Diamond abrasives are used in several industries such as concrete floors and countertops polishing, as well as rolls or cylindrical parts grinding and polishing.
If you are not familiar with microns as grit, a 250 micron is somewhat equivalent to a 60 grit abrasive and 9 micron is about a 1200 fine abrasive.
Another name for silicon carbide is carborundum. It is nearly as hard as diamond and its natural color is from a greenish blue to black.
